If I buy a property in Spain as a non resident I’m only allowed to stay for a total of 183 days. As the property would be go to my children when I die I was wondering if I buy it for them registered in their names (I have two children) would I then be able to stay in what would be their property could I then stay the whole year round as a guest?

Any replies would be greatfully received

Regards

No

You will get 90 days in any rolling 180 days

After December this year you will not be able to spend >90 days in Spain (or the EU) in a single trip

Property ownership changes nothing and endows no privileges.

Of course you can live in the house. You just have to set up a contract with you children that you rent the property. With that renting contract and and prove of income you can get then your residential permit. Of course you have to pay then income tax in Spain. Regards
