Hi,  I want to take my cat back to the UK, he has had a rabies injection but I have been told the Spanish are more strict on pets leaving Spain.  Can anyone tell me the rules regarding this please.

It is the UK who is strict on letting animals in.  Your cat needs a passport and chip.  Details of the rabies injection have to be entered in the passport, also the chip number.  Just before you travel a vet has to sign passport and give worming tablets.

A follow on from Josephine123's post..From the date & time that the worming tablet is given and entered in the pet passport you have 120 hours (5 days) to get back into the UK. Talk to your vet they will explain the procedure in full to you.

Not every airline takes pets.  I believe Monarch do, but they have to go as cargo in a special area in the hold.  I once enquired for my dog and it was very expensive.  I always drive now.

Yes flying pets isn't cheap...we do the same as you and drive.
