Hi,

Our move hasn't happened yet but we're actually flying out tomorrow morning to look again. We've been back a few times and just haven't found the ideal place yet. We're going to stay to the South of Alicante on our coming visit but I have a feeling we'll end up gravitating back to the area somewhere from Campello to Busot. We'll see - fingers crossed !

Hi there. I am planning to move out in next year or max 2.  I due to personal circumstances had to delay until after Brexit so will have to jump through more hoops.  However determined to get out there and I have widened my search a little but I keep coming back to Busot.  I did originally look at other areas due to more transport links (non driver).  However I still keep coming back to Busot.  It is not the greatest for transport but from my research it seems there is one bus a day to Campello (not weekends) and one back direct.  Or longer bus routes not direct a few more  (I think up to about 4 a day but take much longer, over an hour and half as is longwinded route of three buses I think.  There are no late buses though from Campello and a taxi I think is about £20.  Of course you could walk it if up for a 2 hour walk :)   So I guess if want an evening out in El Campello a taxi is the only option.

I am going to get around though mainly on a normal bike or ebike.

I understand in certain areas there are more and more going on car share aps.  Not sure if that has reached Busot yet but seems the way to go especially if some travel frequently to el campello.  Or the old fashioned way ask in town if someone goes to el campello regularly and car share that way.

I am not sure if there is a local taxi company in Busot itself to get around locally to save a long walk back from the bar or restaurant at night depending which part of Busot you stay in.

I guess I am sacrificing best transport facilities for what to me seems a perfect small town for me.  I have looked in so many areas and it is strange and not sure why but something about Busot makes me feel it is a great fit for me.  I almost feel at home there already and yet still stuck in UK.  I think my gut is telling me and I always like to follow my gut.   I did research transport thoroughly pre going though to weigh pros and cons before deciding which areas to look at properties to buy.  It is important being a single non driver to do my homework but also at the same time I don't really plan to use public transport much.  It is just nice to be prepared.

I will of course get out next year at least a couple of times (preferably first visit the beginning of the year off season in the winter time)  to have a look in person both at Busot and a few other areas to get more of a feel and also live the practicalities using local transport.  I am also considering spending a few months renting before I buy to get a real feel for the place.  It is important I get it right as I would like it to be my final home.    I just want to live outside a small village or town (up to about half hour walk to nearest facilities is fine) that is friendly but am not too far inland from the coast and Busot seems to be just right for me.

I was curious as to which area you decided on after your trip.  Did you stick with Busot or still undecided?

Hi there.  I noticed you mentioned the direct bus to El Campello.  It seems different to times I have researched on their website.  I am assuming you mean the direct bus C52 as it shows there as just one a day Monday to Friday leaves Busot at 8am and returns at 2pm from el campello.

Perhaps they have just not updated their site and same on google.  Have they changed their times as that later return sounds good to me?

Hi sorry I didn't reply earlier. I have had alot going on and Covid has not helped.   I did just try to join the group but they say minimum requirement is to live in Busot either full time or at least part time.  Anyway I still applied explaining but will see if refused.  It would have been handy to hear locals talking about it and perhaps ask an odd question.  However I understand if they wish to restrict membership as they don't know me so I wont take it personally :)  Still hoping to get out there next year to start to check out the area and see how practical it is for me.  One can only do that by visiting.  Covid delayed things as no way will I travel abroad the way things are but at least with the vaccines we at last have something positive to look forward to so hopefully next summer.  I am hoping to have at least a couple of visits in 2021 :) Then make final move in 2022.   As I am alone  I want to get it right.

Thanks anyway for the advice to go there as yes it sounded useful :)

Edit:  Yay I have been accepted so I will refer to myself as an honorary member for now.  I doubt I will contribute much for a while but going by what I have seen so far it will be great for me to get local info and if anything not covered I can ask the odd question.  Although my move is still a long way off I wish I was there now.  So apart from useful info preparing me it is nice to feel part of a community and I can perhaps pretend to myself I am already there :)  So thanks again for the suggestion.  It is exactly what I needed.  I have learned already about a meat supplier who delivers to Busot :)

If you have any questions of Busot, the group will help with anything or feel free to ask me. There's also ice cream delivery from jijona that comes from spring to the end of summer 😎 there's just the one bus twice a day as you mentioned earlier and we only have one taxi, so your own transportation is advised.

"Obviously not legal but our lawyer says that s ok.".

That's going to generate some entertaining replies!

Huge risk there! You might not even get permission from the town hall to put in a septic tank. Personally, I'd find another lawyer. You could end up buying the property just for it to be knocked down by the council
