Hi. Anyone have any information on when the beach bar will open again in Cabo Roig? Also, any update on when the shortcut will be opened up again to access the beach from the promenade?

Thank you🙏

Hi

Don't hold your breath - it's another fiasco (the council have lots of previous!) and it's unlikely to open at all this year.

But then again, maybe somebody else here has better information than me.

Cheers

Oh no. I can’t believe it. What is going on? Is this the same for both bar and shortcut?

Hi

I've just asked Mr Google and it seems there is some hope now https://www.theolivepress.es/spain-news/2023/11/21/popular-tourist-beach-bars-closed-all-throughout-2023-will-reopen-for-easter-holidays-on-spains-costa-blanca/ but, after last year, I'm still not holding my breath - I can't find anything more up to date than November last year.

Cheers

Thanks Steve. I wonder if there is a contact number or email address available so that I,  and others who would like to get an update, could ask these questions? It’s been going on far too long and is beyond a joke at this stage. Surely there has to be more updated news on these two long running issues.

Hi,

The shortcut ( as it was) is actually a private walkway belonging to the adjacent community called Bellavista. Unfortunately it will never be open to the public, hence why it is gated.

I've read that it was decided last Autumn that the pathway is to reopen but the delay in doing so is because the residents are arguing about the amount of compensation they will get and they want a lot more than they have been offered. Let's hope it's sorted soon. 🤞🤞🤞

Where can we get clarification on this? There seem to be so much rumour and speculation so it would be very helpful to get official confirmation and an update so that people know the correct details.

Hi. Thanks for taking the time to post this. I think it’s time for another update on where discussions/ negotiations are at. The  update in that article was published last November so surely things have moved on since then!!!! Hopefully someone on the forum will be able to contact someone who knows what’s happening as we come to the end of March in another year!!!!
