I have two passports one is UK and the other is Irish.
If I arrive and show the Irish Passport and leave by showing the UK Passport what happens then?
Do they know for sure that I have left or will they assume I am still there?

Why would you need to do that? If you have an Irish passport, losing the right to Freedom of Movement doesn't apply to you...... 🤪

I think the point being made by Kimmy is if you have an Irish passport why would you not want to use that all the time?
Makes the question you asked a little odd if I may say so (Use a UK passport one way and an Irish passport the other). Doesn't make a lot of sense as why wouldn't you use an EU country passport all the time if you're concerned about UK passport overstay.

If that made any difference, UK citizens with familial links to Ireland wouldn't be bothering to apply for Irish passports. Just travel to Spain and anywhere else in the Schengen travel zone using only your Irish passport.

Oh YES definitely, for the long term benefit of future generations.
Possibily not for me but it was not a selfish choice for Brexit.
