Hi,

Does anyone know if a Carrefour is opening? I saw the sign for the new Iceland but nothing else.

Thanks

I got the impression,  maybe wrongly?, that it was going to be part of the new Lomas de Cabo Roig commercial centre. Which I believe opens sometime in July.

On Google maps, it looks like carrefour Express is going into the pool shop building. The pool shop is looking like it's going into the new commercial centre..

Hi oggy

You are staying in a nice place..(but I am bias, I love the area) The dubliner has been taken over, but it is very much open. Do nice fish and chips on a Friday. (Prd book is needed)

Alfie's bar is great, quiz on a wednesday.. plus other entertainment on other nights.

There is a great Indian/Mediterranean restaurant, plus another called soul kitchen (above the Dubliner) all very good food and priced well.

There is a pizza restaurant and takeaway. Then... you have other bars and restaurants on the other side of the road in front of the new Iceland, as was Aldi. So you have lots of entertainment on offer, and food.  From breakfasts at the Yorkshire tea rooms, to the street for main meals.. outstanding as far as I'm concerned.. to relaxing bars or a sports bar.. or a burger on the end..

The road to the strip... I've not done it, but plenty do, including my partner, at busy traffic times of day, i would highly discourage you, but if your willing, why not, it's down hill, and like I said, although I wouldn't, lots do.

Your going to have a lovely relaxing break.. hope you love it like I do.

Hi Oggy,

The Dubliner has changed Management but is open for business. Alfies Bar ,close by including a couple of others is open, plus two Restaurants up on the first floor level.

Nearby is the the old Aldi building, soon to become an Overseas U.K.Supermarket , attached to it our several more eateries and bars.

In between is a new shopping complex nearing completion which is to include a few more bars and Restaurant ,plus other facilities.

The Road down to The Strip has been earmarked for Pedestrian improvement but as of yet is quite a scary walk due to very very minimal walking areas, although many people do use it.

Hope that helps and your holiday goes really well.

LeckyLes.

Do you know a reliable taxi service to get around the local area? We have just purchased a property near by and need taxis to the strip and shopping centre, beach etc.

Thanks

Taxi numbers

+34 966 76 10 88 la zenia radio taxi Obviously I cant guarantee them... although there are taxi points near paddy's point and la zenia boulevard where you can pick up a taxi. Oh, and just around the corner from the Bush wacker is the well used taxi rank.. this I can guarantee.
