Hi all,

I’m very excited as I am about to retire in a couple of weeks and will hopefully be exchanging contracts and moving to Spain full time. We have been several times and stayed around the Cabo roig and campomaor areas. We are looking to rent for a few months in this area, whilst we explore and find an area we would like to settle and buy a property. I will be coming with my wife and 10 year old daughter, who we would like to put in a Spanish school in/around los dolses/ play flamenca area.

I looking for advice/hints about places that do long term let’s (6 months ish) that will be able to House a dog also. Next advice is about actually getting my dog over there if anyone has suggestions. I am sorting his dog passport out to travel.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. We are looking to come out mid may 2018.

Many thanks

Paul

Hi Paul,

We moved over here in Feb and brought our Springer with us. We used Sharon at Trans-Pet and can't praise them enough as they collected him at the agreed time and boarded him for an extra few days while we were busy viewing many properties. I have attached their link for your information and good luck with your move. We moved to Santa Pola which is lovely but I can't comment on the areas you are looking at as we haven't been there.

I think you have to wait 3 weeks after their rabies jab before they can travel

We are moving from SHEFFIELD to the warmer climes as a retirement present for myself and my wife and kids, to enjoy a differemt way of life. Just in the process of finalizing the house and organizing dog transportation.

Thanks Linda, advice and help is always appreciated. Im bringing my Staffordshire bull terrier over. I am in talks with trans-pet as was mentioned earlier in the post. I will update you with our transportation, they seem helpful and have been quick to respond. Hopefully we will be moving over full time in early may, fingers crossed.
