Hi everyone

I need to write a will when I come over in January and my solicitor says it will cost 150€, which seems a little high to me in comparison to what I paid over here in UK. It includes the notary cost too.

Does anyone know the going rate?

Many thanks.

Jackie

I paid 50 Euros to One Way Services in Quesada, including the Notary costs in March. My Father went in July, but the cost had gone up to 100 Euros.

Hi there.  Thats really helpful. What a jump in price in such a short time! Maybe the notary cost has gone up - my solicitor has been really good so far and has given me help a number of times with various enquiries without charge so I don’t think she will be trying to rip me off at this point.

I think I will contact One Way Services and see what their current price is.

Thanks so much for taking time to reply. I really appreciate it.

Take care, Jackie

Hello Jackie, yes of course. His name is Rafael Mestre Gomez Tel: 96 669 4038. As it happens l was waiting to see the Notary after my Will had been written up and had not paid yet. The cost was actually 38.10 Euro. It is right near the 500 year castle in Santa Pola so worth the visit. Have English speaking staff too. All the best.

The 38.10 € was for writing up my Will.  He also did the conveyancing and wrote up the deeds to my property last week. They perform other functions that a solicitor might do in the UK. I have not yet paid for deeds. Glad to have been of help.

Everything discussed in the first paragraph was run by me before writing the Will. They said they were extra-careful with non-Spanish nationals so as to get it right, the variables being among other factors your address of permanent residency, country in which the properties are and such like. I received a copy of the Will. Not one in English as l don't need it to be so do ask if you want an English translation.
