Hi,

I am currently currently going through the buying process for a property in Cala Peteries and using a solicitor in Torrevieja, flying  back out next week to give her power of attorney in order to reduce our trips over which means the next time we go out it will be to pick up the keys. I will pm you with her details.

Hi Dennis,

Carlos Hernandez Cantos in Villena is as honest as the day is long and very efficient. he charges a fixed fee so you know exactly what things cost, with no nasty surprises.

Hi, we used a solicitor we found on the British Consolate website when we bought our property last month. Very efficient and even travelled to the notary on day of completion to go through everything and translate for us. Everything was handled by email up until that point and he liaised with the agent on our behalf. He is based in Murcia but covers the whole Costa Blanca area.

Here are his details, can highly recommend him.

Thankyou for that, what can I expect to pay for his services ?  ,Is it based on property value or fixed.  Also did he organise NIE or anything else you needed when buying as a non resident.?

Thanks Col

Fees are 0.75% of property value plus 21% VAT, minimum of 600€. We arranged our NIE elsewhere but you can give him power of attorney and he will obtain it on your behalf if you are still UK based.

He will also be able to sort electricity and water contracts etc in your name, pay the cadastral and land registry, set up direct debits for council tax etc. Have you arranged a bank account yet? We have ours with Banco Sabadell and they have full English speaking support on the telephone and Internet.

You can go ahead and put an offer in on your property and instruct a solicitor afterwards, most estate agents are able to advise and help you also. Ours was brilliant.
