It needs to be pressure tested. You may need to go to a dealer as most small garages here don’t have all the equipment needed.

When I had a leak in my system they put a fluorescent dye in the system and the leak showed up bright blue with a UV light.

Easy enough to fix the leak and the dye stayed in.

Pressure testing is a far more accurate method for leak detection.

You are right up to a point Billy. A pressure test will confirm a leak but it will NOT show you where it is. The dye test does both.

You can hear the leak because of the pressure!

Sorry Billy I have to disagree.   You will not find a small weep by listening for it. I had one which emptied the gas in over a month it was due to a tiny leak on a hose connector. The dye showed it beautifully.

It wasn't supposed to be a competition, just an exchange of experiences for others to benefit from.

Cheers.
