We want to extend the height of our wall for privacy, can you tell who owns the wall and if you have to have permission. Our wall is already high but next doors is only about 4ft around his pool and rents out his static so holiday makers can easily invade our privacy.

I don't know about establishing ownership of a dividing wall, but you will definitely need planning permission.

I assume yours is a fully legal property. If it was originally illegal and has since been legalised, the fuera de ordinación stipulation might mean the town hall will refuse permission.

Check the rules regarding the height of walls permitted in your area, we have an upper limit of 1.8m

Hi,

It could be a minefield to get permission to extend the wall....maybe a cheaper route may be to plant something fast growing on some trellis against the wall if you have the space? Not as permanent I know but could be a quick fix as everything generally grows well in spain as long as it has water? Good luck with it👍🏻
