Hi all, in 2015 my husband bought a food van. He was going to run it with a so called friend. At the time my husband and I first got together so he asked his friend if he wanted to buy the food van so they agreed a figure. Over the next 2 years he didn't stick to the agreement and paid very little, so my husband took the van back and sold the van. My husband never earned any money and lost a lot of money on the cost of the van. We now find the tax man wants €8000 for money earned from the van even though he received no money. Our solicitor advised my husband to close his bank account as the tax office will take the money out of his account. Now the tax has embargoed a vehicle we want to sell. There is no way we can avoid not paying the tax as they update there outstanding charges every 4 years. Anything that my husband has in his name they can switch the embargo to. The whole process is extremely upsetting as they are stealing our money. Our solicitor has said it happens all the time. Please be careful, just pay it because you can't fight them because they don't listen
