Are there any groups or clubs to socialise in Catral?

Although I have lived here for over a year I do not know many people.

I was wondering where people socialise and what they do in Catral?

Are there any groups or clubs?

I am a widow, no children, so where ever I go I need to feel ok on my own.

I hope you get an answer soon. I don't know about Catral but often in other areas there are things like line dancing or ladies lunch clubs, keep fit etc. where you can join in and not feel worried about being on your own and then make friends this way.

Maybe you can ask in a local coffee shop/cafe or bar if they know any clubs or classes or what's going on locally to socialise.

The other thing people on their own in our area do is join a local conversational Spanish class, these are often a way of meeting like-minded people and learning some 'easy' everyday Spanish at the same time.

I hope you find somewhere to socialise soon.

Let us know how you get on as it could help others in the same position.

Thanks Jan,

Have looked for Spanish conversation and found nothing for Dolores or Catral. I did join the college to learn Spanish and was the only English person there!

Also looked for the other things you mention on Facebook and Google, and can find nothing at all.

Hi,

I just realsed that you are not far from Ciudad Quesada and we have another website/forum for there that has lots of information for that area and the surrounding areas. You could join this forum (below) and ask on there if anyone knows places to go in Catral or Dolores. We have loads of members on there and you should get some good ideas.

The forum is called TalkQuesada: http://www.talkquesada.com/

Also if you have transport and don't mind travelling a little way you could come to some of the classes and activities shown on here:

http://www.talkquesada.com/dancing-fitness-spanish-painting-and-other-classes-f92/

There is also a bar/restaurant called The Club in Quesada and they have lots of activities including a Ladies Club who meet up on a Friday afternoon. See the website here:

 http://www.theclubquesada.com/day-time/

Hope this helps.

There is a Lady's that Lunch group that meet for different reasons, go into Longs Cafe/Bar (Catral) and ask the manageress in there for a lady called Pat's telephone number, Pat runs the group and there are about 60 ladies in the group I believe. Im afraid Ive lost her telephone number. Kind regards, Chrissy. x
