System fitted to mains inlet which had 3 large cartridges.  We are also thinking of getting one fitted, and I think Don De in Quesada do something like this. 

System is around 350e,  then fitting charges.

Thank you for sending this advise and company on to everyone.

It is very important to have good drinking water as well as saving your water using appliances such as washing machine / dishwasher / kettle and hot water system from being furred up due to the white gunk in the water supply.

There is certainly a lot here in Catral. Also it becomes a pain with constantly having to buy bottles of drinking water - as well as bad for the environment with all the plastic bottles going to landfill.

I am looking to get such a water filter that does not need constant filter maintenance, as the prices for new filters are sometimes quite high. However I will check the companies out that you have mentioned.

You asked if I find a system to let you know. I found this service which the cost of installation is certainly cheaper. http://www.clearwaterdrinking.com/

The cost for supply and installation is: 129€ inc IVA for drinking water filter and 195€ inc IVA installed for main water inlet supplying water heater and ALL appliances.

Thank you.  I must admit I read about this system, maybe I misread it as it seems it’s a water softener from mains and then another system for drinking water under sink, as it’s not advisable to drink water from a softener system - not 100% sure if this is still the case.   I’ve left my enquiry of systems to various companies incl. Don De, see what’s replies I receive and I’ll pass them on.

Noted Denver, yes we need to Investigate all alternatives that are financially viable regards cost of filter maintenance etc. Yes, we can stay in touch as buying bottled water ongoing becomes quite expensive and also a chore moving the bottles from store to home!

Update. Had a reply from Clearwater, they only do under sink drinking water, not whole house. Cheers

It seems very confusing I know.

This is what he wrote me: 

I can install the drinking water system direct through the main tap on your sink for 129 euros including IVAIf you are looking for a descaler I fit an electronic on it which stops the calcium build up on all your appliances including the boiler the cost is 195 euros.

Hi I’m waiting for other companies to come back to me and I hope to pop into Don De today.

I personally am not sure about this electronic gadget.    Keep you posted.
