Hi Geoff, first things first, it is a step in the right direction to reach out. My husband has had major problems regarding sleep after major surgery and also he over thinks things and cannot switch off at night. After trawling the internet and trying numerous recommendations he came across a guy called Michael Sealey on YouTube. He has loads of video's of varying lengths (he tends to use the 40minute ones) and have found them to be very effective after having been quite sceptical regarding this type of approach. He even recommended them to our daughter who was stressing about her Uni work and exams and she now swears by them. Hope you give them a try. Good luck. Karen & Geoff

Hi guys.

Killjoy seems to think I'm Geoff, and Geoff seems to think I'm killjoy!!

I'm Steve, who was just a teenager at the time of the Falklands War. Although funnily enough, I worked in the design department at British Aerospace, particularly on Harriers in the immediate aftermath of the war.

I therefore have a degree in beer drinking and aeronautical engineering!

Cheers

Steve

I know sweet 'fa' about aircraft design, but ........

I am an authority on drinking beer.  My first pint of beer was at 'The Old Harrow' at Gleadless Town End in Sheffield when, then aged 17, I had my first pint of Tenant's Queens bitter.  And it's been downhill ever since.

But, being a poet, who didn't know it ........... I wrote a toast for us Yorkshire folk to raise a glass to.  It goes like this:

"There are many good reasons for drinking.                                                           I remember one now, in my head.              If pals can't enjoy a drink whilst they're living,                                                         How the heck can they enjoy one - when they're dead !"

"Cheers !"

Geoff,

I missed the Falklands , However I do find my mind working overtime on occasional nights,

I have BBC sounds on my phone, connected by the internet, music of all genre's is readily available and some good podcasts .

As a side note, there are plenty of Ex matelots on the costa blanca , who will gladly listen to you if you just need a chat,

some even remember the tot!!!!!

You may need some extra help in this the 40th anniversary of the Falklands campaign, and your injury.

Believe me, I am ever grateful that I survived and celebrate every day.

In order to keep my back supple, I need to exercise regulary and therefore choose to dance for at least six hours every day.

Finally, when I retire to my bed at night-time, I permit myself a little smile as I snuggle down under the duvet and whisper quietly to myself: "Hee, hee!  Another day, snatched from eternity !"
