I was reading something earlier by Santa Pola police , I think...official figures for Santa Pola ...“Scores on the doors” as Brucie would say 66 positives 5 deaths . As sad as it is, thank goodness it’s only 5

...ot not I hope I'm the 1st one on the 4th of July to do so !

Me too. Would love to hear from anyone arriving during July since we are desperate to enjoy our new home, having had to give our solicitors power of attorney to complete on our behalf dependant on the euro exchange rate!

I think as homeowners and contributors to the economy we have not been kept very well informed. My house was pretty badly destroyed by the floods and we desperately need to get it fixed before the winter comes around again. I left Spain when we were asked to when they went into lockdown and I had only been there 3 days with my 3 dogs. Literally had to find a vet and drive through France with nowhere to stop so had to sleep in my car (with dogs) just to do the right thing. I understand fully why we have to do as we are asked and respect that but am worried about my home too and not sure if I’m able to get through France and allowed over the border into Spain or if after travelling all that way I’ll get turned back. Then if I can get over the border can I cross Valencia into Alicante? There just doesn’t seem to be any clear instructions or information that is reliable. All very frustra

Hi Karen,

In addition to RayD's great advice, as usual, El Pais online newspaper is a good read. We plan to return via road with 2 cats through France mid July, de-escalations permitting. We will (all) need to watch the acceptability factor of UK people in Spain's eyes and that is dependent upon the continued decrease in deaths. Over the last 24 hours it fell to 55 and a lot can happen in a month. The Covid-19 thread in this forum is quite active albeit can be subject to a lot of opinion (which is fair enough), so the official resources are valuable.

Think you were brave returning with the dogs and sleeping in the car. That must have been tough.

Good luck and best wishes,

DavenJules

Thank you for replying it’s all so confusing. I wish you luck on your travel and maybe you can let me know how you found it as I’m probably not going to travel now until the end of August. I always drive over and back with my dogs from the eurotunnel and spend a night in a motel. I love the drive but would be a bit upset to be turned back after a 1000 miles ! Take care and thank you again
