I seem to be paying 6 euro per month for home electrical protection.  Does everyone pay this?  Is it any use ?

I see a 6 euro saving on the horizon unles you tell me otherwise.

Thanks

M

Hi Mike

Iberdrola have been known to add on three different types of help/insurance charges. Whenever I've changed my contract with them, I haven't done it online although that's the easiest way. Instead I've gone to an Iberdrola shop and asked them to exclude additional charges. There's never been a problem in doing that.

If you do that, take a copy of a recent bill, along with bank account number, passport and NIE. If you use online billing, don't take the bill they email to you, as that doesn't include all you personal data; instead download one from their online office.

The shop in Almoradi is Tecsat Electrónica on the corner of Calle Virgen del Rosario and Calle Nuestra Señora de Monserrate.

Thanks Pete. We don’t live in Spain permanently so I will certainly look into Iberswitch next time we are there for a longer period of time 👍

Thanks again Pete. Yeah..I agree...we’ve always had something to do each time we come over since we bought our property in January last year....never really had much chance to enjoy our visits. Hopefully that will allow change soon.

Thanks again for the info. Btw...I assumed you lived there permanently since you seem really knowledgeable about all the important things.

We were also charged this but when we went to office Guardamar they cancelled straight away for us. We already have full house insurance so didn't need it

We had a very bad power surge 2nd week we were here which broke our washing machine we claimed on house insurance with no problems and had a new washing machine delivered 2 weeks later. Back home you would get a voucher or money to pick your own at same value but here they just replace the item.
