I am thinking of fitting some pool lights and wanted to know peoples opinion on fitting them or not fitting them. Was told they attract bugs etc leading to pool cleaning every morning.

Also what type of lights exist and what options

Any local installers?

Thanks

Funnily enough we just had our pool lights fixed recently. They weren't working since we bought the villa three years ago and initially we felt we didn't need them. I have to say its very special now having the ability to go for a late night swim in a lit pool. We don't leave it on, just turn it on when we are either swimming or on the naya in the evening as it looks quite spectacular!   Overall with the way we use it we haven't noticed a bug problem and despite ours being expensive to fix (due to old wiring issues) I'd recommend it. Since we were asked what we wanted by the electrician I'd recommend going for a more expensive LED light. Its (probably) more efficient, longer lasting and I have to say I really like the hue of the light from ours, better than I was expecting.

I have always been told that retrofit is a bit hit and miss, however I would like to also say that I think that would be down to the level of care and professionalism that the installers applied to your property.

One company who have done work recently for a customer of mine, and their work was brilliant, is Simply Pools. http://www.simplypoolsspain.com/

It would not be fair for me to personally recommend them as I have never done business with them, however, my customer is a very satisfied client based on their work.

I hope that helps

Thanks for the info, did you have any other choices on illumination colour, layout or effects?

How much would it cost?

You can obtain remote-controlled LED lights, which have a variety of colours and the choice is then yours.

These are widely available in places like Leroy Merlin and I am sure any installer would also provide them.

Hope it helps
