Please can anyone tell me how to get rid of old furniture (not fit for human use) left at our new apartment. Old cooker and some naff furniture.

Can I just leave it out by the bin or do I need to contact the local council to collect

Thankyou

You should contact your local town hall (ayuntamiento) to find out when they have their collection days for such things.

Spain has local council tips just like the UK, ask where your nearest is and take it there. Leaving stuff such as furniture next to street bins carries a 300Euro fine if caught and makes your area look like steptoe's yard.

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

I agree Grahame, usually Moroccans cruising round in a van spot it and take away. They are ingenious as they repair old electrical items for either their own use or to sell on at car boot sales, nothing goes to waste. Things not taken this way are collected by the local council.
