Could anyone please give us any information on the area of El Campello.

We are a UK couple in our 70's hoping to long term rent a new or nearly new property, we would be coming over to Spain on 90/180 day basis but would hopefully rent for years permantly.

Which area is the best to concentrate on, we don't want to get a car so would like amenities within easy proximity, is there a local bus service.

Any information would be grateful appreciated.

Long term rentals are not easy to come by as most landlords will want to maximise the potential income from the tourist season.

You'll find it even harder if your only planning to be their on a 90 day rota.

This website (see link below) is excellent to give you an idea of what is available right now. You can use the interactive map to choose the location you want. At the moment there are 199 properties for rent in the El Campello district. I used this site to find the first two properties I have lived in since moving to Spain. Good luck.

Hi there, El Campello is a lovely Spanish seaside town, beautiful beaches and great for walking along the promenade.  There are some expats living there of various nationalities, but its pretty much Spanish residents and is packed with Spanish holiday makers in August.  The Garden Room, run by 2 lovely English Sisters has many social events and there is a walking group that leaves there on Tuesday mornings.  In the hotter months there is sea walking instead.  The tram system is fantastic and very, very cheap to get around and you can get to Alicante in just over 30 minutes and to Benidorm in the other direction.  There are 2 outdoor weekly markets and plenty of supermarkets.  As you are planning on a long term rental, you can always decide to move up or down the coast when your term is up and explore other areas.

However, this 90 day ruling may be scrapped and it'll go back to how it was before - fingers crossed. Seems that authorities are lobbying to get these restrictions removed. I believe France has been doing the same.
