I will shortly be clearing out my mums house on Alkabir and was wondering what to do with the rubbish - are there local tips as in England or do we just leave the stuff by the bins - if so can anyone advise what days collections are and what the protocols are.  Also does anyone know of a charity that might want some household items (including furniture).

Hi The best 1 for furniture is the one near Mercadona, if you are not sure where it is, when you come out of Alkabir, including the roundabout there go to third roundabout where the health centre is, turn left, go down there about 300 metres just past Mercadona and it is in the middle of the next block, it is an animal charity, we know it locally as the [cat shop] this is where i have always got rid of old furniture over the years always collect and always reliable when they say they will come they come

This is also a large caged area just at the top of the pool area with a skip, don’t know when it is emptied but people fill the skip and also leave large items next to the skip in the caged area.
