Hola everyone in Costa Blanca.

We are looking for some advice.

We have a new townhouse in Finestrat. We live in the building block known as Block 1. There are 6 houses in the block. We are house 1D. The house 1B decided without our permission to build wall panels on their 2 garden dividing walls. The wall panels now block out 50% of our PANORAMIC VIEWS OF THE MOUNTAINS, SEA, SKYLINE and SUNRISE.

Sometime ago when we spoke to the developer regarding privacy from the neigbours, the manager was quite clear that everyone in our block would have to agree with the concept, we were never informed about any concept nor any request to agree.

Any advice would be most helpful.

Have a nice weekend. stay safe.

Peter

Hi Peter,

Sorry to hear about this.  Have you spoken to your neighbours about the impact of their panelling?  If that hasn't helped, has the development been created as a Community of owners, or are there plans to do so?  If so, contact your President - any such changes would need to be presented to a meeting of the Community for approval.  Failing that, you could contact your Ayuntamiento (Town Hall) - your neighbours should have sought permission to erect the panelling, either with the granting of a "Minor Works" or "Major Works" Licence, and they should have done so, even if the Community gave permission in the first instance.

Good luck!

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi,

Thank you Kim, that's a great help.

There is no community of the owners of our block, this has never been mentioned .

The problem is that the neighbours are quiet clicky and discuss things that suits themselves,  just treating us as if we are not there .

I have contacted the manager of the developer but he has not responded yet.

I will ask the Townhall if the owners have requested permissions,  but I doubt that.

Thanks again, have a great weekend,  stay safe.

Best wishes

Peter
