The UK Government has just issued an update to their Travel advice for Spain - the ban on air and sea travel between Spain and the UK will last until 6pm on 5th January 2021:

Thanks Kimmy. We are in the UK right now. Hoping that our flight back still runs on 28th ..... depending on getting our PCR results back on time and -ve.

If we don't get back to Spain, we have a place booked in Devon (as a contingency).
If all of England locks down, and we can't go there, we'll end up staying with our daughter ..... not a preferred outcome.
