Myself & my husband Steve have our temporary residency visas, issued by Spanish embassy in Manchester UK.

We have until October to gain our Padron and then our TIE.

We had an appointment at the Town Hall in Denia but on arrival were told we needed to apply in Gata as we are living there at my sons' address which is in Gata de gorgos. Is this information correct? Please help.thanks.

Your son should register you both on the padron as family members, also what address are you using for TIE application.

I phoned my local authority about this very same question and got the same reply. To register on usthe Padron, you either need to have 1. Deeds to a property, 2. A rental contract or 3. Be living with someone (albeit temporarily) who will accompany you when registering. They will have to produce a utility bill  or Suma Bill or proof of living at the premise and they must vouch that you are/will be living at the property. Once you have a permanent address, either 1 or 2 of the above will apply.

We are using my sons address as we are living with him at the moment.

You both need to register at your sons town hall, you’re son must accompany you to update the padron details, take with you as said in SCLAYTON’s post, plus your passports, I assume you have NIE and Spanish bank details with your account address (sons) or/and anything you may have registered at your sons address, also inform the padron office that you are applying for TIE. For official business purposes the padron should be valid for less than 3 months, although some official bodies accept up to 6 months? When You find your own place to live, you will need to register at your local padron office and then also have your address changed on your TIE at your local national police station.
