Moving to Javea late August with my family. Looking to make new friends

Hi,

My name is Helen. I'm in my 40s.Im moving to Javea late August with my hubby and 2 daughters aged 12 and 8. Im looking to make friends in the area. We are all very friendly and outgoing.

I enjoy meeting new people, eating out, coffees and wine! My daughters are active and love sports.

We are very excited about our move although a little nervous too as we don't know anyone in the area.

Looking forward to hearing from likeminded people to spend some time with.

I wondered whether there are any groups or clubs we could join.

You will meet people theough your children’s school. Lots of activities from sports to culture to crafts and amateur dramatics etc. Join Javea Connect and Javeamigos for information., Remember August will be hot and humid...and crowded....but only for a short time. Good luck. Exciting chsnge.

We moved round the world with my husband’s job....Far East, ME, Australia, the USA. You seem to have the right attitude.....so will be fine. We found Javea so friendly that we settled very quickly. You have obviously been here so know... Great Overseas shop...Iceland and Waitrose...if you need a bit of home now and then! Apasa always happy for people take a dog for a walk. Karla Darocas (SpainLifestyle.com) does a great, historic walk round the old town after summer heat finishes. Well worth doing. Try out Bar Arraval in Gata de Gorgos for authentic tapas set menu with wine (big so share) €15. Asia Wok buffet amazing value and fresh food etc. Walk along the seashore and have a croissant and coffee for €1.50 at Posedania or La Fontana. Javea Players put on great shows and Careline Theatre do the pantomime at Christmas. Sun over winter is wonderful! Enjoy.

Thanks so much for your lovely reply and advice too. We are so excited about our new adventures. I have also lived in France and Japan but before I was married and had my daughters.

I absolutely love travelling and exploring new places, cultures and languages!! So I'm like a child on Xmas eve about coming to live in Spain!!

I have a beautiful reconverted farm house in Javea, which I have been spending summers at for the last 40 years. I am now considering living in it year round.
