Hi, Does anybody know how to obtain a free bus pass? We have a holiday home in La Mata and visit about 4 times a year. Someone said we can get one from town hall and pay one of fee. Can someone explain the procedure of getting this bus pass?

Many Thanks in advance

Annual bus pases are 35,- if you are registered resident (padron municipal). Enquire at town hall.

It's actually €7, but it's only available to residents.

The only free bus pass I know of is the one for pensioners. You will need to have a valid padrón.

The only way you can obtain a free bus pass now , whether you are a pensioner, as I am, or not, is if you take out residential in Spain. I had my bus pass for 16 years went to renew as I have done every year even after paying the 35 euros which we had to pay approx 8/10 years ago and it was abruptly taken off me. Told I had to get on the Padron, went renew that and was told I had to take out residential here, we have owned our holiday home  for 16 half years.

What age do they class as Pension age to qualify.

What's pension got to do with it, John? As far as I'm aware it's available to any resident on the padrón.

I was thinking it was like getting your Bus or Train pass back in the U.K., I don't know about other parts of the Country but in Northern Ireland it is free transport for over Sixties.
