Hi

We land late on Monday due 2030 and with the bank holiday on Tuesday google maps shows all main supermarkets closed.

Have found out Carrefour in Santa Pola open until 22.00 as best late option but we need to take shuttle bus to pickup our hire car so likely to struggle getting their intime.

Anyone know any shops with food available later or likely to be open on Tuesday morning?

None of the big supermarket chains will be open, but some of the smaller ones will be as well as garages etc.

You’ve got your location as La Mata, so I would think that Coviran will be open.

Thanks so much Lynn!

Now we don't need to worry about missing Carrefour knowing there is somewhere open not far away on holidays.

We are located in Molino Blanco area and haven't been there before but I've found it on the map, very useful to know, seems like it's open Sundays as well

We always leave our fridge/ freezer on when going from. I always leave butter in the freezer which defrosts very quickly. I always leave long life milk in the cupboards along with a couple of cartons of long life orange juice. I bring a block of cheddar in my cabin bag along with my favourite tea and coffee. ( zippy bags). There’s always packets of cereal in the cupboard along with cans of beans etc., That would see us through breakfast. If we arrive earlier, we eat out somewhere nearby. I often stick a few slices of bread into my cabin bag as well. The last time we flew over, I cooked a gammon for my husband and that kept him happy for snacks for almost a week. Once we arrive and the shops are open, I buy a couple of pork fillets, open them and stuff. They only take an hour to cook. Once chilled, they slice down beautifully forsnacks or salads. It’s easy to live in Spain!!  Hope you have a fantastic holiday. There’s nothing to beat it.

Although flying from UK to Spain you’re not allowed to bring in meat or dairy!

Sounds like you have a good time Rose. We tend to turn electric and water off.

Never arrived this late before and hadn't thought when booking that there was a public holiday on Tuesday.

Normally we get to supermarket day we arrive.

We don’t actually live in the UK apparently , we live in Northern Ireland under EU laws. Our foods are all checked.  Surely you know this from all the news coverage. We are unique!!  I’m breaking no laws. Anyway, I’m led to believe that we are allowed to bring food for our own consumption.

"I cooked a gammon for my husband and that kept him happy"

Posted without a hint of irony.

(Which is bizarre, given some of the pro-Brexit nonsense you've posted on here over the years. However, if it's satire, that would suggest you've developed a sense of comedic self-deprecation, hitherto unseen & I look forward to seeing more of it.)

A bit late now but the nearest supermarket to you in Molino Blanco is dialprix . A nice walk just up the hill on Avenida Torreblanca. They have great fresh meat and fresh fish counters and freshly baked bread together with a big selection of vegs and frozen Irish/UK products. Opening hours this week on the link.
