Hi Jo. I originally got free or really cheap insurance from Sabadell as a perk of opening an account with them. After 12 months though I switched to an insurance company that my Spanish lawyer has a connection with. I'm still with them as they're a proper company and lot cheaper than the bank! If you want to send me your email address via a Private Message I can pass it on to my lawyer who I'm sure will be able to help you. Alan

Hello,
I'm not sure if you are referring to a holiday home you have in Spain and you come every so often or if you rent it out (like Airbnb), either way, its very important that you have a good amount insured on your liability coverage, as this will cause less problems to your pockets in case of an accident you have caused to your neighbours.
I recommend you use an insurance agent or broker, as they will help you with claims managment, I also suggest you stay away from banks as they will not deal with the claim, they will simply send you a number to call so you can deal with it yourself, they are also more expensive with less coverage.
Please be carefull with the home insurance if it is your holiday home is Spain, as some companies have a limit of time that you can spend outside of your home (for example, some insurers won't cover if you have left the home for more than 2 or 3 months, so you will be "in the open" the time you are away).
If you need any help or advice feel free to send me a message, as I would be happy to help you. I work in an insurance agency through AXA (AXA doesn't an occupancy period, as explained before).
