Regardless of facilities provided by councils, where we used to live in UK was on the edge of woodlands. Yes, many people collected the revolting dog mess -then hung the plastic bag on an adjacent tree.

And the inhabitants of our unmade lane were horrified one day when new discovered that the container supplied for gravel for the winter - one of those large yellow boxes - which, admittedly had not contained gravel for many years! - was, instead, full of dog mess which had been thoughtfully deposited there by responsible dog owners.

I agree with RayD, on our Urbanisation we have put up notices requesting owners pick up after their dogs, it's worse now than before the notices went up.

The problem on our Urbanisation gets worse during the high season so you decide who the miscreants are.

Well, they may be a public nuisance - but not in quite such a nauseating way!

Despite having fines and penalties in place this hasn't solved the problem in the UK. There is still a dog poo problem. People are people wherever you go and digs do their business regardless! I despise how other forum members turn this into some kind of Brit v Spanish blame game. Despicable considering most Brits on this forum have come to Spain to enjoy the lifestyle afforded to them by their generous host country. All they can do is moan!

Torrevieja town centre has got to be the worst place I have ever seen for dog dirt.  Not the promenade area, but the streets further back.  La Siesta and surroundings have never seemd bad in my experience.

Education is the way forward, whatever the nationality.

It mostly ends up being a Spain verse Britian on here.

I have no idea why.

You post something about the country you have chosen to be in ( Spain ) and before you know it out come all the percentages and data thrown in and blaming us lot.

No one cares who it is. They just want to know how to tackle it.
