Noisy Insects

In case you are wondering what the very noisy insects are and what they look like check out my photo, they are Cicada´s and it is not a hoard of them making the noise, even one is extremely loud.
Rather like the sound of these little critters,as I did when visiting my family in Australia.
Wondered what they looked like.

Hi, does anyone know if these creatures are harmful and do they sting?

They're not in any way harmful - in fact you're lucky if you get close enough to one to see it. All they're doing with the noise they produce is trying to entice a female to come along and produce the next generation.

Thank you that’s great to know and a relief, they are certainly noisy neighbours to have 😂 they never stop calling, but it’s only light music to our ears! Yes this one didn’t move was on the top of our umbrella ☂

Believe me, there is only one! Just go outside and wave a fly swot around and it will soon clear off....
