Orihuela markets reopening delayed
Having announced that Orihuela’s street markets would reopen from Monday, the town hall has now decided to delay this ‘until further notice’.
Makets councillor Víctor Bernabéu said the complexity of organising them due to the strict health measures has forced them not to open until the safety of all traders and customers can be guaranteed.
The municipality has a total of 12 street markets in the city, rural districts and Orihuela Costa.
Many other municipalities have already reopened their street markets to sell only food and in compliance with safety restrictions imposed by the national and regional governments.
