Hi. I moved to Ireland over a year ago from the UK. My irish partner and I are contemplating a move to Spain in the next year or so. However we are worried Brexit could affect such a move. Does anyone have a view on this?
If your partner is Irish she can get an Irish passport and Ireland will still be in the EU, that's why so many people from Northern Ireland have applied for them. Check if you can apply for one as well since you are living in Ireland. That way if Brexit goes badly you can still be an EU citizen and free to move to Spain with no issues.

We have also had my husband get an Irish passport, rather than renew his UK, to cover the potential brexit mess. From what I read, if you & your Irish spouse live in Ireland for 3 years u can apply for citizenship & get a passport. I won’t be moving to Ireland any time soon!
However, for me, because we’ve been married for ever, I would be able to stay in Spain with hubby under a sort of spousal visa situation.

Thankyou but we might be buying a house in the UK as well and so might need to keep my British passport so we can get into The UK. Its so complicated.

I have only been in Ireland 19 months and we arexwauring for my partners legal separation to be final before we decide. We want to spend time in the UK as well and buy there too. So need both passports I think. We need professional advice but need someone we can trust.

NOBODY knows what is going to happen yet. Do not spend any money on experts, they know as much as you.
What is certain is that Spain will continue to want you and your money.
You can hold both an English and Irish passport at the same time if you are entitled to them.
