Another member said the following: "I may be wrong but I think you can turn up at the Policia Nacional desk in Playa Flamenca Town Hall. Maybe a post on the Playa Flamenca/La Zenia Forum will confirm or deny."

Can anyone confirm this is the case?

TIA.

Not sure that there is a national police station in Playa Flamenca,  there’s definitely local police and maybe Guardia Civil, but can  you clarify your post , as there’s a huge difference between becoming  a resident or becoming a  citizen and I’m not sure which of these  you’re trying to do?

Unless your have a Spanish family link, you have to have been a resident in Spain for 10 years to apply to become a Spanish citizen.

Or do you hold an EU   passport and you are just wanting to apply for Spanish residency?

Or as a EU passport holder/citizen  are you wanting to become a fiscal resident?

If you are a British passport holder , you need to obtain residency  prior to becoming a citizen  ( as above).

All of these scenarios have different paths, different forms to complete and different offices to attend. They also require different back up documentation . So to point you in the right direction, we need to know which passport you hold and your intention.

The local, national and guardia police are now located in the new security centre in La Zenia at the end of the road where Consum is.

I have an EU passport and wish to register as a resident in Spain. The problem is finding an appointment.

Appointments do appear to be difficult to obtain. My partber and I used a third party to make the appointments and perhaps you might consider this. This link may be of use:

Hi Flowerlover,

Yes, I replied to your original thread and also saw that comment.  However, all new messages are posted in the location chosen by the member posting, as well as the whole of the CBF site, so it should have been seen by members in that location already.

This article suggests that, as an EU passport holder, you can apply to join the foreigners' register at the Policia Nacional in La Zenia's emergency centre on weekdays, between 9am and 1pm:

Kind regards,
