A general search on Google reveals that this drug is avaiable in Spain. I would suggest your son-i n-law takes the drug packaging to your nearest pharmacy where staff will advise of availability. However, a word of caution one website reveals a cost of 102 US$ for a pack of 60 tablets.

Hello
I know that this blood thinner means you dont have to do monthy clinic checks. It's not prescribed very often here as it is expensive, much more than other blood thinners .
I take different meds that requires regular clinic checks so, unsuitable...., sorry I cant help

Hello
As a visitor, he would have to go to a private doctor - as a non resident he wouldnt be able to access an appt.at a local salud.
I assume he has travel insurance which covers medical needs, so he would have to go to a Dr that is suggested by his insurance company - they usually provide a list of Drs & clinics covered by their policy.

If the drug is available over the counter there will be no need for doctor intervention. A prescription would not benefit your son-in-law as the medication will cost the same with or without prescription. The intervention of a doctor will only be necessary if the drug cannot be sold without a prescription. Check with the Pharmacy first.
