Hi. I am contemplating wintering in the area and and am seeking about costing a rental for 4-6. I am also a first aid trainer and would be looking for ad hoc work/ running my own courses. Any advice

I agree with all the above apart from saying that houses are built to stay cool in summer.  Mine is boiling in summer and freezing in winter.  I have inverter aircon for cooling and heating, wouldn’t be without it.  I tried a gas fire the first winter, had a strange little headache every night  and usually fell asleep in front of TV.  A few months later the wall in my stairwell was black with mould.  But a lot of people heat with those gas bottles, you have to keep a window open which defeats the object of heating and I didn’t know about it.

Inverter aircon - safe, easy and efficient.

Hi there - If you need to rent accomodation our townhouse in La Zenia is available between 6 October and 4 February currently. It has 2 bedrooms and sleeps 4 people, but there is a sofa bed which has both a single and double bed too. You can see the advert on the "Properties to Rent" section of the newsletter and on the forum. Thanks, Fay

Hi Davee,

Work is very hard to find. However, I don't know of any first aid courses around and we should all have some basic knowledge of what to do in an emergency. There are a lot of retired people here who have plenty of time on their hands, like myself. I would love to do a first aid course. With regard to the weather, in comparison to London, which is the 'soft' south, it is absolutely beautiful in the winter here. We have glass curtains which of course helps to retain heat and only use small halogen heaters. There is outside entertainment In the afternoons all year locally, and it is only cancelled if it's raining. (Not often!). It's not the Canary Islands, but the warmest place close to the UK that we have ever stayed in, with abundant sunshine. We have lived here since November 2015.
