Hi all

Currently U.K. resident  (Scottish) I will be working in Spain under digital nomad visa  currently arranging NIE, bank account etc  I am eligible for Irish passport which I am also applying for with longer term plan to achieve Spanish/EU residency.

I have experience in hospitality (Bar, retail, customer service) in addition to my core experience in IT/Project management.

CV and any further information required on request

I am coming to live in or near La Zenia with my daughter for 2 years. I have been a self employed project manager in the IT / Cyber security space for 20 years but not looking for anything specific. I just want to work and am open to anything within reason. Be great to hear from anyone looking to hire.

People will need a bit more information before they can answer, The main thing is what is your nationality? If a EU citizen you can move and work with little formalities. There are also opportunities to work as a "digital nomad" and can take up work online if that suits you.

That’s great. Thanks I’ll update the post with more info.

TBH, I would think the Irish (EU) passport would be the best way forward. Applying for the digital nomad visa isn't really a walk in the park. However, not knowing your qualifications and which company you work for, it's difficult to assess how successful your application would be.

Have a look at the requirements here....https://www.exteriores.gob.es/Consulados/londres/en/ServiciosConsulares/Paginas/Consular/Digital-Nomad-Visa.aspx

Good luck.

Irish passport would be easier. A digital nomad visa requires you to show the same income as a Non Lucrative Visa (€28,800 per year or €2,400 per month) whereas as an Irish passport holder the requirement is just €600 a month. With that passport you can work online, or any other type of work, without a visa.

You would also require private medical insurance and register as a foreign EU citizen resident in Spain within 3 months of arrival, the advantage being you can do that whilst in Spain whereas the visa route requires you to apply in your home country.

You will not be able to work for a Spanish employer under the terms of the Spanish Digital Nomad Visa. I'm sure you are already aware of the conditions of this type of visa but just in case:

https://www.exteriores.gob.es/Consulados/londres/en/ServiciosConsulares/Paginas/Consular/Digital-Nomad-Visa.aspx

You tell us you are 'entitled' to Irish citizenship and no doubt you have researched this thoroughly but just in case you haven't these links will help:

Once you become the holder of an Irish passport you may find the contents of this link helpful:

When applying for your Irish Passport can I suggest you chose the option to have a Passport Card issued also. The Passport Card is similar to that of an identity card and is valid for 5 years maximum but can be renewed providing you hold a full valid Passport. The card fits neatly into a wallet and can be used for identity purposes and to travel within the EU/EEA and Switzeeland and the UK instead of using a Passport. In Spain you must carry a valid ID card or passport at all times, and failure to do so could see the police detain you temporarily whilst they ascertain your identity, and furthermore, it is within their rights to issue a fine.

The following link will provide further information about the Irish Passport Card:
