We have a noise nuisance with a bar less than 150 metersacross the road that allows its customers to sit outside until 3/4/5 in the morning being served alcohol through the security gates. The problem is all year round we bought 20 years ago and moved here 4 years ago.   We have tried to sleep at the rear which is unfair to us and doesn’t solve the problem.  When requesting them to maybe allow their customers inside the bar  after 1.am we were told to wear ear plugs.   The police have been very unhelpful and decline to speak to us  and do not visit the premises.  We have been physically to Local Orihuela police with the same reaction. We are not alone in our plight.   The bar in question also pays and uses other businesses terraces and the footpath to locate tables & chairs for quiz nights etc.the music may subside at 1.30 but the. Customers can carry on long into the night.

Does anyone have any sensible solution we don’t want to spoil anyone’s fun?  We now have certain customers shouting verbal foul language at us.whilst we sitting on the terrace having dinner.  I have photos & videos but the bar in questions name is clearly visible

Be persistent with the police. Check what time the bar has an alcohol license until. (If you don’t want to walk in and ask them ask a friend to call in and ask what time they close) If for example it’s until 1am then take photos of alcohol being served after this time and call the police. Tell them that there is alcohol being served out with the licensing hours.

Next step would be to call into the ayuntamiento (town hall) if the bar is in la Zenia the ayuntamiento is in playa flamenca. The bar in question receives their alcohol license from here. If you take photographic evidence (which may not be necessary but advisable) to them and show the offence that is being committed they will be able to do something about it for sure. You can remain anonymous for this but I’m not sure what your standing is given the fact you are taking photos from above if that makes sense!

I know it might seem a little like telling tales but it’s the only way that you will get it stopped if the police won’t listen. Be persistent and you will get it sorted I’m sure of it. Nicola.

I tried to do a copy and paste of the ayuntamiento details in playa flamenca but the page went a bit crazy, sorry. Nicola.

That’s good news. Take them to the ayuntamiento and ask to see someone in the licensing department. Hope this helps. Nicola.

Thank you Nicola that’s very reassuring one of the reasons local police won’t help me or put the phone down is because I don’t speak Spanish.
