Hi all. I’m looking at buying a car over here as we visit 6-8 times a year. The one stumbling block I’m coming up against is that my NIE, which was issued in 2016 and at that time said it was only valid for 3 months. My NIE starts with a Y so I know it is still valid. But the bit of paper it’s printed on says it isn’t !!! How do I get this NIE re validated so I can buy a car.

Since an NIE is for life any official piece of paper with it on, including the original, should suffice.
Seems to me somebody is being awkward, threaten to take your money elsewhere and they might change their tune.
