I don't think the initiative should be nitpicked over but rather recognise that it demonstrates that people in Britain are willing to do what they can to help and credit to them for doing so. I'm sure given more time then it would be different but that is not an option at the moment.
Other than helping people who might not otherwise get assistance the volunteers free up other bodies, such as the armed forces, to concentrate on helping to create additional NHS facilities, the conversion of the Excel centre in Docklands being one great initiative.
There are a lot of good initiatives going on, I'd rather recognise them than highlight the likes of the morons shown last week in Benidorm!
The number of volunteers has now surpassed the 250,000 target.
