It was announced yesterday that from October 24th travellers returning to the UK will only be required to take a lateral flow test, rather than the more expensive PCR test. The announcement only applies to England at the moment though the other countries may follow soon.

Read the article below from the BBC for more detail.

Thanks Kim, given today's weather I can spend some time on-line looking at options!

Lynn put up a link yesterday, https://www.testingforall.org/product/day-2-lateral-flow/  - they charge £19 for a home delivery kit, a good price. I used Testing4All earlier this year when day 2 and day 8 PCR tests were necessary and the service was very efficient, so I would recommend them.

Rgds,

Aitch.

Thanks aitch.  We´re hoping to go back to the UK during the first half of November, but the increase in Covid-19 infections and deaths is worrying.  We plan to go via Le Shuttle, in the hope of limiting our exposure, before we see my Dad.  I´ve decided the best thing to do is to bookmark all the relevant information so that it´s quick to hand as soon as we make the final decision - I´ll add your recommendation to my saved posts.

Kind regards,

Kim

Yes, probably safer to stay in your own bubble as much as you can.

Stay in your own bubble  another nonsense statement came out of Covid ,its about time the terminology that has evolved with covid was consigned to the bin

Day is going fine Aitch ,thank you ,I refuse to use the jargon created during covid ,a bubble is something  you would see at a West Ham home game or comes out of a tin or washing up liquid when water is added
