The Opera browser includes a free VPN. Also browse under "incognito". Top of the hop is doubtlessly the TOR environment giving you access to many, to say it smooth, "hidden" things.

Ive had lots of VPN's,  started with the free ones, then paid, (free ones are useless)

I have found 'privateVPN' to be reliable and stable. Their support is very good as occasionally Ive had a few sites detect and a quick email to them, re configure, sorted. From memory I think its 50 dollars or so a year.

I use Express VPN and find very easy to use indeed. I don't even notice it's there running in the background.

The package I have allows you to connect 5 devices.

It's a little more expensive than the others but I tried a few of them after the free ones and found this the most easy to use.

If you go online and do some research you can find what suits you best.

Good luck

Hi, I have been with NORD VPN for a number of years now with only the odd glitch mainly due to my poor computer skills.

You get automatic updates and there is a good back up and service line.

Every time the computer starts it offers a map and I can select which country I want to route through.  Today I will appear to be in Italy if someone wants to look.

They also offer Double VPN or Onion over VPN for really secure connections but I've never used them.

I've recently starting using Windscribe which connects me to the UK for free but only 10GB per month.  It suits me while in Spain

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

Yes....I have a drop as well but not 30%.

Just checked and it was just 10% but that is not an exact science. I would have to ensure all other devices are disconnected.

Hope this helps.

I am quite lucky to even get a WiFi signal where I live.  No cables of wires come within 6km of this place so my connection is via a wireless link with Cableworld/Airworld in Elda.  It's not the fastest but it's very reliable with few outages and they are usually sorted in an hour or so.

When I signed up with NORD I was told that it could slow the connection down a bit, but the difference is such that I would never notice it.

What I have noticed is that the speed of the connection varies depending on where you choose to connect to. I usually work with European countries which on the whole are good but you will need to try different countries and find the quickest. I am via France at the moment and it is pretty quick.  It will be trial and error.

If you go on an American site and get blocked I just change the NORD to USA or Canada. Problem solved.

There are some sites that will not allow you to log on with a VPN. You just have to disconnect it.

Having said all that there is nothing I do that needs a fast connection.  I am too old for downloading films and gaming.
