I'm back in the UK to sell my car and rent out my house, I've met a bloke who's selling a Spanish car and I'm considering buying it and driving back, however it's from Malaga and I've heard there are difficulties registering a car in another region, anyone know the facts? Thanks in advance.

All the details are in Jim's Guides which are in a tab at the top of the page, just scroll down until you find the relevant part.
Buying a Spanish car is nowhere near as simple as sending the form off to DVLA . Debts stay with the car such as unpaid tax, HP and fines and finally, it is illegal to drive it in the UK so you would have to have it transported.
If it is a private sale I would run a mile.

Edit: Please do not private message Jim.

Check out the vehicles details with trafico , this can be done with any of the transfer people listed locally . If it checks out ok , and if you are a spanish resident with a spanish licence you can insure it on line [ with a spanish insuance broker ..!!] and drive it back or have it transported . i  have someone who  can assist you with the formalities if you wish [he is spanish and has more experience than most of the others around put together] , if he cant do it ..no one can .

Thanks for all the info, I'm going to hang fire for a while and see how travel restrictions play out.
