After being idle for a longer period of time, the boiledr will not start due to accumulated air in the gas pipe or hose, the longer the more. Be patient and keep the ignition button pressed for various minutes allowing the gas to push out the air.

Thank to I will try to see if there is any leaks in the hose as there is no button to push as it relies on the waterflow to run the piezo ignition so purging is not an option.

Thank you for replying

There usually is a reset of some description in case there is a lockout for flame failure. Sometimes its just turn the switch off and on again or the temp switch down and up again. Cant say I've ever heard Killjoys description of a possible cause.  They all rely on a flow switch to operate the piezo ignition. There is a possibility the flow switch is sticking.

When you turn on the water after it's been stood does the piezo spark.

It always used to work but we have just arrived and find this time no piezo at all
