Hi dac perhaps you will be kind enough to let us know if the name change went through free of charge when you’ve received your next bill?

Regards Anne

Hi there,

I got my first bill after making the change of name in Feb by booking a phone appointment to request, then filling in a form or two and emailing the documents to hidraqua.

Yes my bill is now updated to my name.

No admin charge was made nor a habitation certificate needed,

Hi there,

I have been paying the water bills since 2006 when we bought the property by means of direct debit in my name even though the name on the statements are under the previous owners name. The reason is because we were told years ago that we would need certain architects documentation costing considerable euros.

It is obvious that the property is now under my name because the bills are being paid out of my account.

Its good to be aware that the Hidraqua (previously Aquagest) are now seeming to drop this requirement. Can I enquire if there are any other costs involved in changing over the previous account holder into my name.

Thanks

Denis

No charge was made at all to change the name. They issued me a new contact number.

I did the whole process by phone and email in Spanish. I spoke in Spanish on the phone so not sure if they have English speakers  on the phones. After the call they emailed me contract and personal/bank data forms (in Spanish). I retuned by email to [email protected]  scans of the completed forms, my NIE, passport and entire compraventa . No habitation certificate required.

It seemed to take a couple of weeks to process, next bill came out in my name, The start meter reading used on the bill was the meter reading on the date of the last bill in the name of previous owner .

I think best to process by phone or  in person appintment. There is an online vitual office option but it seems to me the previous owner has to fill that out , or at least you need the previous owners ID to process. https://www.hidraqua.es/en/cambio-titular
