Dearest Jim,

I am devastated for you.  I feel that I’m going to cry.  I have never had the pleasure of meeting either of you but reading your proud reports on Margaret’s crocheting, it was clear how much you loved her. The wool holder you made was so beautiful and created with such love and tenderness  for the woman you loved so much.

Cancer is a cruel disease. My beloved aunt died many years ago from it and I was young then and so frightened of it. I decided to join our local Cancer Research uK group and got my sister and some friends to join as well.  We have worked tirelessly over the years and now and again,I think I will resign but then I realise that the battle continues and we must keep fighting this scourge.

Words cannot describe how shocked and saddened I felt when I read your post.  You poor man. I hope you will find the strength to keep on going and I feel that you will. It’s clear to all of us what an able and decent man you are. The help you have given so many of us has been invaluable.

I am so glad that Margaret’s daughter was allowed to travel to Spain and be with her at the end. Yes, she will be a great comfort to you.

I will pray that a God will help you through these dark days and nights but always remember that you can carry Margaret with you in your heart wherever you go.

Please accept my deepest sympathy.

Sincerely,

Rosemary.
