I am hoping to buy my retirement home in Oliva in September. Have been looking also in Els Poblets, El Verger, Deveses.

As an OAP who does not drive, wishing for somewhere fairly quiet but within walking distance to basic shopping facilities, I would welcome advice.

I am intending to visit the area soon for a couple of weeks for a good investigation and will need basic accommodation for that period.

Help and suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thank you

You will have more facilities and better transport options in Oliva. El Verger, el Poblets and then Deveses in descending order.

Have you spent time in these towns?

Yes, a little. I stayed at a friend's place in Pego a couple of years ago for several weeks and took time to look at properties in Els Poblets, Oliva and other parts. Now need to go back with view to determining where I would like to live.

I know Pego quite well.

If I can provide any more information regarding the general area just ask.

Good afternoon and thank you Reylat.

I stayed with my friend in Pego and loved it. It made me decide to retire to Spain.

As I am an OAP without a car, I would rather be somewhere nearer the coast. So, I am investigating Els Poblets and Oliva.

Personally, I would rather be in a typical Spanish town/village and looking to buy a very modest villa, rather than on an urbanisation, although I could be very wrong!

Any help would  be much appreciated as I am own my own and rather frightened of making a mistake.

Thanks again

Linda
