It is confusing but if you read the guidance on the gov.uk link provided above it does state that S1 cover is still provided to those who are eligible for a UK State pension retiring to live in the EU.

However, there is a contact number to call to confirm whether this is correct,

NHS Overseas Healthcare Services
Telephone: +44 (0)191 218 1999
Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm
Saturday, 9am to 3pm

Rgds,

Aitch.

I disagree with you. It's not confusing. British citizens applying now in 2022 no longer have the same rights.

It's correct that UK citizens in general no longer have the same rights but it quite clearly says in the gov.uk info that retired UK citizens are still eligible for a S1 card, which is what I quoted. Read question 6 of the attached, answer from the UK embassy in Spain.............................

Aitch, you are absolutely correct. Any UK citizen who is receiving UK state retirement pension is eligible to apply for the S1 healthcare scheme. However, you don't receive an S1 card you get paperwork to submit to the INSS department in Spain who, if everything is correct will assign you to your local health clinic. They will issue you with a SIP card and assign you to a doctor.

Wrong......This was negotiated after Brexit.

However, if you disagree, why not post a link to where you are getting your information from. I posted 3 links on my last reply.
