We prefer making our own chips but don’t know what is the Spanish equivalent of Maris Pipers or King Edwards and where to buy them in Denia, Gandia or Oliva. Grateful for your advice.

The Spanish don't really go in for potatoes the same as us Brits. About the only two types you'll get are 3kg and 5kg.

Actually they are getting a few more in. Look for the ones that say patatas para freir. You can get them in most supermarkets and especially Mercadona. Not sure if you have a Food Co (Tesco) or Overseas (Iceland) near your area but they do King Edwards and Maris Pipers although a bit expensive.

Lidl Oliva usually have several kinds of spuds, I'm sure you'll find one to make chips with.

I use whatever is on the veggie rack at Dialprix. If prepared correctly they come out the airfryer beautifully 😋

Thank you. We are in Oliva Nova. We usually shop at Carrefour in Ondara, Denia Gandia and Benidorm but sometimes go to the Overseas supermarket. I didn’t know you could get King Edwards and Maris there.

Consum sell a type of potato especially for frying. As Marcliff stated, they are marked   patatas para freir  and we buy them especially for chip making and do find they make very good chippies !     They also make good roast pots.

Yes, they are great for roast potatoes, Lidl do them too, and sometimes Aldi whereI live.

I also find them great for baked potatoes.

Just as long as you DO NOT TRY TO COOK THEM USING OLIVE OIL.

Vegetable oil or Sunflower oil should do the trick.
