Where can I buy fresh (non frozen) haddock in Gandia, Oliva or Denia, etc. Preferably undyed. Thanks.

In the years we have been living here I have never seen fresh smoked Haddock for sale. I have tried all the usual shops but no luck. I just think it's not to the Spanish taste.

Thank you. We have bought frozen smoked haddock in what used to be called Iceland in Benissa but it was not very nice. We like having smoked haddock for breakfast. We saw a whole smoked herring in Carrefour Ondara the other day and wondered if we bought it and cut it in half, will the result be kippers?
One other thing we cannot get unless you drive to Iceland or Carrefour in Benidorm is TVCHOICE. I know you cannot find it in Denia where you can buy French and German TV guides and I have never seen it in Oliva but we have only visited one newsagent there.
Having said that we are amazed at what you can buy in Spain these days. We first came to Oliva in the early 1970s. The only foreigners there were French and we, the French and the fishermen were practically the only ones who went to the beach. And Oliva had trains and, of course, a train station.

We bought one of those whole smoked fish in Carrefour some years ago, it was in fact a mackerel, as we used to buy it often in UK. This was unfortunately not to our taste, we found it quite unpleasant.

Thank you, we will not buy one. Will stick to granola and less healthy options like Carrefour butter croissants, omelettes and the occasional bacon and eggs. Ah, the Mediterranean diet, can’t beat it!!
