Hi everyone,

We are looking at a villa in L’Aspre , anyone lives here that can let me know what the urbanisation / neighbourhood is like ? Amenities and Any safety issues etc as we would only be using it as a holiday home ?. Thanks in advance

Hi my name is john and my wife and I have owned a villa on el aspre for 4.5 years which we use as a holiday home 5-6 times a year. We love the peace and quiet.

There is quite a steep road up into the urbanisation and we are 2/3s of the way up to the top of hill so quite a challenging walk particularly in the heat of the summer. However the view is worth every penny of the effort.

We are a 5 minute walk from Forn Vell the local english bar which does food and provides quiz nights and entertainment. Cal Morel which sits just behind forn vell is a lovely restaurant providing great food.

I think it is a lovely area and the local town of orba is a 15 minute walk with additional amenities - pharmacy, vet, dentist, health centre and several good restaurants.

I am sure others can add to my comments.

Hi John

How lovely of you to reply, thank you so much.

Can I just ask Is there any particular issues with burglary etc in Orba as a whole or in the urbanisation?

I am sure others are in a better position to respond to this than me. However what I do know is that there have been some burglaries on el aspre in the earlier part of the year but these are the first burglaries I am aware of in the 4.5 years since we have been there. When we first moved to orba there was a spate of burglaries on palmeria another urbanisation on the edge of town so I am not sure if this is a cyclical thing ?

Again this is an observation and has no evidence as a base, but the burglars appear to target residential properties and appear only interested in jewelry and cash. So many holiday homes might/do not contain these and therefore are of less interest to them. Any family members who use my villa I advise not to wear expensive watches/jewelry when they are out as i think this might lead to them being targeted.

However it is a very safe place and I am not sure if you are more likely to be burgled in the uk than here.

We have a holiday home on aspre , lovely area , everyone seems nice , I believe there are burglars knocking about now and again, but they are everywhere tbh .

Like had been said, it’s a fair steep walk going home, but not that bad , the views are great from either side .

The villas are a few decades old so expect to put you hand in your pocket , unless it’s been recently renovated you will have to spend money on it , some good tradesmen around though to do the work.

The town is good , good bars and restaurants, tapas,a couple of English bars as well .

All in all a great area , you have access to Denia and its beaches and quality restaurants 20 minutes away , plus loads of other nice towns on the coast . Plus all the mountain towns and villages . I’d live there if I could 🙄❤️
